Screwed into tank and was tightening down and the lid broke ok. Not cast iron but pot metal. Have to take old one from old barrel and use it. A little disappointed.
Our responseItem is cast iron. It is recommended that the customer use a pipe wrench on the round coupling area of the adapter to tighten into the tank instead of gripping the hinged lid as there is give with the hinge area.
This does the job of locking your oil fill. You can also considered a waterproof cap if you need to do so, but this is also waterproof for all practical purposes without a washer.
