PVC NSF Schedule-40 and Schedule-80 plastic nipples and pressure fittings

PVC DWV fittings and PVC pipe are listed separately. PVC pressure fittings are NSF-pw approved for potable [drinking] water.
Schedule-40 is white; Schedule-80 is dark gray. Fittings are sch40 unless designated sch80 in the description.
Fittings are typically grouped by type and arranged from smallest to largest of the largest diameter, then from same size to more reduction on the next diameter.

Do not use PVC for compressed air or gases. Do not exceed temperature or pressure ratings. Do not use pvc for hot water.
(Use cpvc for hot water up to 212°F [100°C].)

schedule-80 male thread street adapters (fitting x mipt)

Purchase a threaded nipple below of the correct diameter that is at least four times as long as its diameter. Cut the nipple about halfway between the ends. You now have two adapters. The cut end can be solvent welded ("glued") into any hub such as a tee, valve, or union. The other end can be threaded into a fipt fitting, including those of other materials such as copper or brass.

A brass plug also works well in a female adapter for pressurized applications that require removal such as a priming port for a shallow well pump.
