SDR-35 PVC gasketed sewer main pipe and fittings

Gasketed PVC sewer main has a gasket in every hub to seal the connections.
The pipe ends and fitting ends (street ell, bushing) are beveled to make it easier to insert into a gasketed hub.
Pipe joints have a bell [hub, flare] at one end with a strong gasket in a groove.
You should bevel every edge that you cut.
Gasket lubricant or soap makes the fittings easier to slide together.
Full joints are actually about 13' 6" overall including the bell.
When assembled, each full joint adds 13' to 13' 2" overall.
Green to bluish-green PVC color may vary.

SDR = standard dimensional ratio, the ratio of diameter to wall thickness.
Gasketed sewer main has the same diameter and wall thickness as regular SDR-35 pipe.
Gasketed pipe is required by many municipalities for public sewage systems.
It is typically installed underground.  Schedule-40 PVC may be used within buildings.
Check your local codes or with the authority having jurisdiction.

pipe to provide a cover for a protective
sleeve around 4" or 6" cleanouts above or below grade.

"hub" means female; pipe slips into it; and it has a gasket and the same inside diameter as a bell end.
"fitting" means male; it inserts into a hub or bell end; and it has same diameters as pipe.
